In 2014, my husband Greg was diagnosed with ALS, a disease that targets the muscular-neurological system. We were blessed with the opportunity to participate in the Willamette Walk to Defeat ALS in 2015 for the first time. Through the Willamette Valley ALS Chapter, we were able to network with others and learn that we were not alone in this situation. Until Greg lost his battle with ALS in 2016, the support system and education that we received about living with the disease, as well as the fight to find a cure, was priceless.
We initially created the team "Let's Wheel Out a Cure" in 2015. The team participate for the next 7 years. In 2022, we decided to disband the team.
I am still participating as an individual. Through events like the Ice Bucket Challenge and the annual walk, key research is supported to make strides forward in finding a cure for this debilitating and devastating disease.
On behalf of Greg and myself, we greatly appreciate your time, consideration, and support!
