Thank you for helping me reach my family's Lesch Defeat ALS fundraising goal! My spouse Donna was diagnosed with ALS in 2022 and I live with the reality of the disease daily. Our household has a close, personal relationship with ALS Northwest and supporting them in their mission to help us and others live with ALS, and to help find a cure, is critical to us. The Walk ALS is an important source of income for ALS Northwest to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
My daughter, Ellie Zimmerman, is the captain of our walk team. My entire family, and both my daughter's and son's circle of friends and collegues are walking and/or supporting us. It would mean a great deal to us if you would support us in whatever way makes sense for you.
The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.
Please consider walking with me or sponsoring me. Thanks.
