Please join us in support of a very special artist, teacher, friend, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and grandma Lisa Pieren, or as her grandchildren lovingly call her, “Honey.” Lisa was diagnosed in the spring of 2015, she's been living with ALS for 8 years. For ALL of those years, she's needed and felt the encouragement from you to keep fighting. Her community, her support system, her family, and the local Oregon/Washington ALS Association have all been essential to this fight. 

She does not let this disease define her and even though her body has been affected by its progression, her “sparkly” spirit remains strong. It's visible in her appearance—glittery sparkles shimmering in her hair, and you hear it when she laughs.. and she loves to laugh... make us laugh! She is a constant reminder to us all that there is so much joy to be found in the little things, and every day she teaches us what it’s like to really be, “sweet like honey.” That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS.
